Mamba Query returns with a fairly obvious question, which I hope spawns from you all fairly obvious answers.
The question: What aspects of technology do you wish were not used inappropriately?
My answer: Most mobile phones have a speakerphone function. Most mobile phones will play music as well. However, it doesn’t help when you’re on a train in a semi-empty carriage being forced to listen to the music from the Coke World Cup advert and something by Rihanna on loop. Granted, the looping two songs caused by a lack of memory due to them being cheapskates that spends too much on booze instead of improving their non-consumable items, but using the low quality speakerphone on a cheap Nokia as a surrogate ghetto blaster just seems like an inappropriate use of technology that really should be banned. And yes, I know I sound old and pathetic with that tone of answer, but I feel it’s true.
Your answers for your unwanted misuses of tech in the comments please…
Welcome to the third of the irregular series “Mamba Query”, where we ask you a question and we wait for people to come up with a decent response.
This weekend’s question is: Windows 7 is just around the corner, and people are being asked by Microsoft to host launch parties to spread the word. Are you excited at all about Windows 7? Are you going to an aforementioned launch party? Will you be using a camera?
My answers, in order: Mildly, if only so I can skip Vista. No, I’m not, no-one is hosting one near me as far as I am aware. Yes, if I ever get to go to one.
Feel free to leave your answer in the comments.
Welcome to the second of the irregular series “Mamba Query”, where we ask you a question and we expect answers, damnit!
This weekend’s question is: Do you use Twitter, Facebook et al too much? Do you update your site far more often than is really necessary. Are all of your updates mindless dross that could be scaled back a bit?
My answer: No, I don’t tweet enough. I do one or two a day for my own updates and occasional ones for @TechMamba, but not really enough for it to be a serious problem…
For the first time in a semi-regular feature we’re asking for your opinion on things. Every so often (most likely on weekends) we will put a question up for you (our glorious readers) to answer, in the hope that something good comes out of it…
This weekend’s query is a simple one: On June 2nd-4th, LA will host E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo. As usual, the guys at Gametactics and E3coverage will be there, and again most of the time the show will be devoted to games, but what I want to know is:
What Tech related stuff do you want to see coming out of E3?
Justin Lee may well be filming it already, but if he isn’t, this is a last chance to say what you want to see. Maybe it’s the successor to one of the current consoles. Maybe it’s a neural implant that emits pain when you get hurt in-game. In either case, add a comment about it and Justin could be taking note.
