Consumers will be excited in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK because the Apple iPad will be released in those countries on Friday May 28th. Although consumers in Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore will have to wait till July to get their hands on the Apple iPad.

It was bound to happen! With the popularity of The Simpsons voice pack for TomTom GPS devices, it is no surprise that TomTom today has announced the availability of Star Wars voices for your supported TomTom GPS device. For only $13, you can purchase the sound pack and have Darth Vader give you directions, although let’s hope he doesn’t really pronounce them like he did in the studio:

We were very surprised Gizmodo’s website held up to the onslaught of half the planet heading to their website when they broke the “next iPhone” story yesterday. So much that tons of media has been interviewing them on the air. Our favorite pick would be ABC’s Good Morning America, and if you’ve missed the story about the “lost next generation iPhone”, check it out here on Gizmodo.
Due to extremely high demand, Apple has announced that it has delayed the international release (which includes Canada) of the iPad until the end of May. This is due to in part of the high demand from the U.S. market and even some pre-orders have not been shipped yet to some customers in the U.S.
Out of the blue Nintendo of Japan posted a press release on their corporate website that indicates they are working on a Nintendo 3DS (working name) during the fiscal year ending March 2011. The only indication of features is 3D effects without the need for any special glasses, backward compatibility for Nintendo DS/DSi games.

Much to the dismay of many gamers today, anyone owning a first generation (non slim PS3) can not log into the PSN network. While this might not be that bad if you just wanted to play something offline, some offline games are refusing to load. Putting the recently released Heavy Rain causes a crash and a quick boot back to the main menu without any network cord in the PS3 is quite disturbing.
