Bring on the competition of iPhone car navigation software, one of the more popular pda gps programs has arrived to the iPhone. NNG Global Services has released the North American and European versions of iGO My way navigation to the iTunes App Store.
NNG Global Services today announced the launch of its iGO My way navigation solution for iPhone. The application, developed by the leading white-label navigation software provider, is the only solution to date for iPhone which offers true 3D terrain map display and 3D landmarks. Included in the one-off purchase price from iTunes & App Store are quarterly map updates until the end of 2010 at no additional cost. North American, Western European and full Europe versions including the latest Navteq and Top-Map maps can be purchased from within the iTunes application as of today.
Once downloaded, iGO My way needs only a single GPS satellite signal. Since all maps are stored on the device, users do not rely on cellular network coverage. At the same time the most up-to-date maps are provided through regular free map updates, guaranteeing an outstanding user experience at all times. This means no blind spots even in remote areas and mountains, and most importantly no monthly fees or hidden data roaming charges.
“With an intuitive workflow, voice guidance, extra large buttons and icons for optimized in-car use and regularly updated maps, iGO My way sets a standard in navigation for iPhone which other developers must now compete with,” said Tamás Vahl, CEO at NNG Global Services. “iPhone users will find this application uses the full iPhone display capabilities while several others we have seen still fall short of this standard.”
The North American edition includes a detailed USA and Canada map, and voice guidance is available in English, Canadian French, as well as in American and Mexican Spanish. The European version offers maps for 40 countries and features 29 languages with Cyrillic and Greek characters. iGO My way 2009 also includes a wide range of features: speed limit warnings, lane guidance and signpost information, 3D car models, fast, short, easy-to-follow and economic route selection, and automatic portrait and landscape orientation.
